In August, Kitty Gorman, Talika Chalmers, and Eli Knights sat the New Zealand International Biology Olympiad (NZIBO) entrance exam.

Kitty was awarded a Participation Award. Talika and Eli were two of only 350 students nationwide to receive a Bronze Certificate, earning them a spot in the tutorial programme running from November through February 2027. In February, students will sit a second exam based on the material covered over these four months.

NZIBO fosters excellence in biology through participation in the programme. It provides university-level education in biology to tauira selected for the online tutorial component.

We congratulate all three students on their hard work and achievements.
