Duke of Edinburgh Awards

Duke of Edinburgh Awards

We are proud to acknowledge the Dunstan High School students who are currently working toward achieving the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award (DOE). This internationally recognised program is dedicated to developing young people into responsible, well-rounded citizens by challenging them to step outside their comfort zones and serve their communities.

The award is available at three progressive levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—and requires significant commitment across four core components:

  • Service: Volunteering a number of hours in the community.

  • Skill: Learning a new skill (e.g., coding, music, baking).

  • Physical Recreation: Participating in regular physical activity.

  • Adventurous Journey: Planning, training for, and completing an overnight expedition.

These students — Eli Knights, Ryan Clearwater, Olivia Clapham, Sophie Avenell, and Caitlin Shea (who is working at the Silver Award level)— are demonstrating incredible dedication, time management, and resilience as they commit to service, personal development, and fitness. We commend their efforts as they work towards these highly respected global achievements!
