On Monday the 18th of August nine girls played in Dunstan's first ever girls Ice hockey team, in a two game series against Queens High School Ice hockey team. Our team consisted of girls from Year 9-12 and our amazing goalie Felix.

Our first game we played exceptionally well taking the win with a score of 5-1, which we were all very happy about. The second game Queens came back fighting and by the end of the first period they were up 2-0. However after a bad first period we came back stronger, tying it up 2-2 in the third period. We ended up going into a penalty shoot out, which was an exciting way to end the day. We scored 2 goals in the shoot out, and our amazing goalie stopped all Queens shots from going in, securing us the win. 

We had so much fun playing other girls our own age and being able to make school history is very exciting. We are all looking forward to what's to come in the following years for girls ice hockey, and we all hope to represent the school in ice hockey again in the future. We wanted to say a big thank you to Ms Lily for coaching us through our games, to Mrs Elliot for organising the games against Queens, and to the refs and everyone who came to support us through the day. We really appreciate it.
