Farewell and Thank You to Gareth and Ange Lochaden

At the start of this term we farewelled two much-loved members of our school community — Gareth and Ange Lochaden — who are both finishing up their roles at Dunstan High School.

Gareth has served as our Director of Boarding and International Director, and during his time has made a lasting impact. Under his leadership, our hostel has grown in numbers and strength, with significant improvements to facilities and a real focus on student wellbeing. Gareth’s calm, caring presence and the strong relationships he has built with hostel families have played a huge part in shaping the positive reputation Dunstan House enjoys today. He has also supported our international students with warmth and dedication, ensuring their time at Dunstan has been enriching and memorable.

Ange has been a much-loved figure in both our Hostel and school community, serving as Hostel Kitchen Manager and as our Canteen Manager. Her genuine care for students, friendly nature, and consistently high standards have helped make both the hostel and school canteen places where students feel at home.

Together, Gareth and Ange have given so much of themselves to our school. Their hard work, kindness, and commitment to our students will be missed immensely, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they’ve contributed.

We wish them all the very best for the next chapter — and remind them that they will always be part of the Dunstan whānau. See you soon
