On Wednesday 2nd April, the year 9 students had a presentation by the AF8 Roadshow team, they delivered an informative presentation about the Alpine Fault and how to prepare for a potential magnitude eight earthquake.
Their presentation included fascinating historical data about the fault line, and students were shown a model of a whare to demonstrate how it shook during past earthquakes in New Zealand and how it might respond when the AF8 event occurs. Students also practised how to get into a safe position in the event of an earthquake at school.
"It was very interesting to learn about the fault line that moved the red hills."
