On Saturday the 1st of February Alexandra played host to the NZ Mountain Bike Orienteering Champs.

Eli Moir won the sprint race in the morning around Boot Hill and Dunstan and The Terrace in the M16 section by just over a minute. He then won the middle distance race on Matangi Station in the afternoon by nearly 30 minutes with local knowledge certainly helping him.

On the Sunday he travelled to Naseby forest to win the long distance race by 10 minutes, capping off a very successful weekend with three NZ titles in his first go at MTB orienteering.
