On Saturday 13th of February, Dunstan had three keen cross country mountain bikers don the lycra and head up to Coronet Peak for the South Island XCO Champs.
The course had a steep climb, with little chance for rest, followed by a nice traverse with some rock features which led into the single track downhill back to the base building. Jonathan Miller lined up alongside the elite riders and probably the top 2 U19 riders in NZ, but rode well, including fixing a broken spoke to finish 3rd place in the U19 section, completing 5 gruelling laps. Eddie Adams was in the U17 wave, against some older and bigger riders, having a great race to finish 6th after 4 laps. Cam Moir rode very well, in a pretty lonely race for him, completing 3 laps and winning the U15 race while only 12 years old.
