Technical Solutions are looking for a Heat Pump Service Tech/Electrical Trade Assistant

We're on the lookout for a good trade assistant or heat pump service technician to help with our growing service workload around Central Otago under the Technical Solutions umbrella.

We're keen to find someone who is self-sufficient, organised, thorough with testing and fault-finding, quick to learn, and good with customers. The role would primarily involve heat pump servicing and maintenance work, so attention to detail and the ability to work independently are important.

Initially, the successful person would work alongside our existing electrical team, who currently carry out this work, while they learn our systems and procedures and get a good handle on the servicing and maintenance side of the business.  There would always be the support of the team where required.

The role would involve servicing and maintaining both residential and commercial heat pump systems. The person would need to be comfortable accessing roof spaces to service ducted heat pump systems, including changing filters and carrying out routine maintenance checks.

In some situations, the role would also include carrying out general property checks in retirement village villas, along with testing nurse call systems in conjunction with our monitoring provider. A good level of organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures accurately would be important.

There would also be opportunities to work alongside our electrical team on residential new builds, assisting with ducted heat pump installations and associated work.

For the right person, there is potential for the role to grow over time, including the opportunity to progress into an electrical apprenticeship down the track.
