Care Matters is hosting a free, two-part online workshop focused on planning for a positive, purposeful adult life.

Care Matters Online Workshop: The Journey to Adulthood and Life After School

Dates & Time:

  • Part 1: Tuesday, 8th September | 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

  • Part 2: Wednesday, 9th September | 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Who is this for?

Parents, carers, and whānau of disabled young people (from early teens to late 20s) who want to start thinking about the future.

What we will cover:

  • Exploring what a full, meaningful adult life can look like—including learning, work, hobbies, living arrangements, and community connections.

  • Starting early, mapping out pathways, and understanding available supports.

  • Creating space for whānau to reflect on how parenting roles evolve over time.

  • Practical, positive tools and ideas for planning ahead.

Event Details:

  • Cost: Free to attend

  • Format: Online via Teams (meeting link sent after registration)

  • Facilitators: Facilitators with lived experience as family members
